Study Deck · Last updated 2 October 2026
This policy explains what Study Deck (the "plugin"), published by Auteur, collects when you use it inside ChatGPT, why, and what control you have.
What we collect and process
- The decks you ask ChatGPT to create: titles, subjects, and each card's question, answer, optional hint and tags. ChatGPT writes these from your request; your chat history is never sent.
- Your study progress: when you grade a card, its next review date, interval, ease, review count, lapses and the grade itself.
- A hashed, anonymous version of your ChatGPT user id, so only you can see your decks. We never receive your name, email address or chat history.
- Quizzes are built and shown on the fly and are not stored.
ChatGPT sends us an anonymous user identifier with each request. We never receive your name, e-mail address or chat history. We store only a one-way hash of that identifier so your saved items stay yours. We do not ask for or accept passwords, payment details, government identifiers or health records.
Why
Only to perform the action you asked the plugin to do and to show you the result. We do not sell data, show ads, build advertising profiles, or use your content to train models.
Who receives it
- No one else. Decks are stored in our database on Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and are not shared, sold or used for training.
How long we keep it
Decks, cards and review history are kept until you delete them. Deleting a deck erases its cards and review history immediately. Exported files are available for download for 24 hours, then deleted. Server logs that may contain IP addresses are kept by our hosting provider for up to 7 days for security.
Your controls
- Ask ChatGPT to delete a card or a whole deck at any time.
- Ask ChatGPT to list your decks to see everything that is stored.
- Export any deck to Anki, Quizlet, CSV or a worksheet to keep your own copy.
Children
The plugin is not directed at children under 13.
